- It's 500 gm of curry cut Chicken.
- You need 1/8 tsp of grated Nutmeg.

Goan Chicken Xacuti (Shakuti) step by step
- Marinate 500 chicken pieces with salt, 1/2 tsp turmeric, set aside for 30 mins.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil, roast all the spices, 1/2 inch ginger piece, 4-5 garlic cloves.
- Add 1 sliced onion, 1/2 cup grated fresh coconut, saute until golden brown.
- Allow the masala to cool completely.
- Add to a mixer jar, add a little water, blend into a smooth puree.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil, add the marinated chicken, stir fry for 2-3 mins.
- Add the ground masala paste, mix well.
- Add salt to taste, bring to a boil, cover & cook on low heat until done.
- Add 1/8 tsp grated nutmeg, 3 tbsp chopped coriander leaves, mix well and take off heat.
- Serve hot with rice or pulao.
