Ingredients of Sooji Mawa Barfi
- You need of Semolina (Sooji).
- You need of Sugar (Shakkar or Chini).
- Prepare of Milk Powder (Doodh Ka Powder).
- It's of Milk Solid (Mawa or Khoya) -.
- It's of Pure Ghee (Asali Ghee).
- It's of Milk (Doodh).
- Prepare of Cardamom Powder (Elaichi Powder).
- Prepare of Raisins (Khishmish).
- Prepare of Almonds (Badam).
- It's of Pistachio (Pista).
- Prepare of Silver Sheet for garnishing.
Sooji Mawa Barfi step by step
- Heat pure ghee in a non-stick pan or kadai. Once the e ghee is hot, add semolina and mix it. Stir and cook it become light brown.
- Add milk and mix it. Stir and cook till the semolina become soft.
- At the stage milk powder and milk solid and mix them. By stirring it continuously cook it for 5 to 6 minutes till it turns to golden brown.
- Add grated almonds, pistachio, raisins and cardamom powder. Mix all and cook for another 2 minutes.
- Finally add sugar and mix it. Cook it till the ghee gets separated from the semolina and becomes a lump. Keep it aside to get it cool.
- Take a plate and grease it. Spread the lump evenly in the tray. Garnish it with silver coating and dry fruits. Keep it aside to get it cool.
- With help of knife cut it to square or diamond shape as per your requirement.
- Now the dish is ready, serve it by garnishing with finely chopped almonds and cashew nuts.
