  1. Heat oil in a kadai add cumin seeds and bay leaf once the oil is hot and fry them.
  2. Now add finely chopped onions and nicely saute them till they turn translucent in colour.
  3. Now add the tomatoes and stir them for 2 minutes. Then add ginger garlic paste and mix it well and cook till the onion and tomato are nicely cooked.
  4. Now add chilli powder, garam masala and salt. add water and cook it in the medium flame for few minutes.
  5. Once the gravy starts to simmer add the cashew paste and mix it.
  6. Let the gravy cook for few more minutes.
  7. Take one small kadai add one spoon oil in it and once oil is hot add 1/4 tsp chilli powder in it..
  8. Pour that oil on top of this gravy and garnish it with chopped coriander and curry leaves.
