Suji halwa is also known as rava sheera in western India And Rava Kesari in South India. the method of preparation is more or less similar, with a few ingredients. the recipe for suji ka halwa is very similar with the texture to popular rava kesari. however the recipe procedure and taste are completely different and more importantly the purpose is completely different.

Suji ka Halva Semolina or Suji is cooked with sugar syrup and. Sooji ka halwa was made in home whenever we wanted to have something sweet. My mom's everyday sooji halwa (or suji halwa) never had nuts in it. You can have Suji ka Halva using 7 ingredients and 4 steps. Here is how you cook it.

Ingredients of Suji ka Halva

  1. You need 1 bowl of suji/rava.
  2. Prepare 2 spoons of besan/gram four.
  3. Prepare 1 bowl of ghee.
  4. Prepare 4 bowl of water.
  5. Prepare 1 bowl of sugar.
  6. Prepare of Nuts to garnish.
  7. Prepare 3-4 of green cardamom.

She didn't even add cardamom powder. Sajjige, as it is called in parts of Tulunadu, is a highly heralded as a sweet dish. Semolina, when made sweet, is called sheera. Several variants of this dish are available under other names in various parts.

Suji ka Halva step by step

  1. Take a kadahi and add ghee in it. Once heated add suji in it and roast it for a few minutes once suji is somewhat roasted add besan to it and roast it with suji. Once roasted add water and cardamom to it..
  2. Remember quantity of water is always 4 times of suji. Once suji starts to absorb the water and the halwa thickens add sugar to it. Now remember to keep stirring it so the halwa won't stick to the bottom of the pan..
  3. Once you see halwa leavin side of the pan and ghee oozing out of it, switch off the flame. You can add nuts in it. Your halwa is ready..
  4. Serve it hot and enjoy..

Sheera or suji halwa is a delicious Indian pudding made with semolina, ghee,nuts & cardamoms. Suji halwa is made in many regions of India with more or less the same ingredients & similar method.
