  1. It's 1/2 cup of - chana dal.
  2. It's 1/2 of - grated medium size kairi(kachcha aam) (according to taste).
  3. Prepare 1 inch of - ginger.
  4. It's 1-2 of - green chilli.
  5. It's 1-2 of - red chilli.
  6. Prepare 8-10 of - curry leaves.
  7. It's 1 tbs of - finely chopped coriander leaves.
  8. Prepare 1/2 tsp of - mustard seeds.
  9. Prepare 1/4 tsp of - cumin seeds.
  10. Prepare Pinch of asafoetida.
  11. It's 1/4 tsp of - turmeric powder.
  12. Prepare 2 tsp of - oil.

  1. Rinse and soaked chana dal in enough water for 5 to 6 hours or overnight..
  2. Drain and put it in blender jar. Add chopped ginger, salt and green chilli. Blend it coarsely without adding water..
  3. Transfer it to the mixing bowl. Add grated kairi, sugar and mix well..
  4. Now heat the oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds,asafoetida, red chilli, turmeric powder and curry leaves..
  5. Add tadka to the dal and mix well. Kairichi dal is ready to serve..
