- It's 1 cup of Chana dal (bengal gram).
- It's 1 cup of yellow Moong dal (yellow lentil).
- You need 1 cup of green moong dal (green gram).
- Prepare 1 cup of red Masoor dal (red lentil).
- Prepare 1 cup of udad dal (black gram).
- It's 1 1/2 cup of Ghee.
- It's 1 cup of gum raisins (gond)- Optional.
- You need 2 1/2 cups of powdered sugar.
- You need 1 tsp of Cardamom powder.
- You need 1 tsp of Nutmeg powder.

- Dry roast all the dals till well browned..
- Grind them to a fine powder..
- Add ghee in pan and fry gum raisins till get puffy.keep aside..
- In the same pan,Heat ghee, and now add in all the ground dals..
- Sauté on low heat till the mixture is well browned. This may take some time..
- Add fried gond in Modak mixture...
- Cool down to room temperature and add powdered sugar.You can reduce or increase the amount of sugar depending on the sweetness of your liking..
- Add cardamom powder, Nutmeg powder,almonds and pistachios to it..
- Mix thoroughly and make Modak shape in Modak mould.You can make round ladoo shape also..
- Garnish with almonds and pistachios..
