Wash rice, dal, methidana and soak for 5 hours and then grind it in mixie. Add coconut, cooked rice in between and again grind (like dosa batter).
Add sugar, salt and yeast and grind..
Keep for fermenting for 6 or more hrs.(close view of fermentation).Take a laddle full batter and pour in a appam pan..
Pour in middle of the pan and dont rotate or stir let it be. close the lid and let cook on one side..
Turn on other side and cook.(can add drops of coconut oil it's optional). serve hot with some non veg curry or veg korma or chana gravy..
