- You need 1/2 Kg of bamboo shoot sliced.
- It's 2 tablespoon of rice flour.
- Prepare 2 of onions sliced.
- It's 6-8 of garlic flakes.
- You need 1 tablespoon of coriander powder.
- Prepare 1/2 teaspoon of jeera powder.
- Prepare 2-3 tablespoon of grinded coconut.
- It's 2 of red chillies.
- You need 1/4 teaspoon of mustard seed.
- Prepare 3-4 of curry leaves.
- It's 2-3 tablespoon of cooking oil.
Bamboo Shoot Curry instructions
- Heat oil in a deep pan. Put mustard seeds and curry leaves to splutter in hot oil. Add garlic and red chillies. Add onions and keep frying. Put the rice powder and mix with the rest of the masala in oil. Fry the masala for a little longer on medium heat before adding the bamboo shoots. Add the grinded coconut and mix well. Add 1-2 glasses of water, mix and cover for a few minutes. Remove the cover and cook for a little longer, till gravy is slightly thick. Check for salt and pungency.
- Now bamboo shoot curry is ready to serve. It goes well with Neer Dosa or Rice Roti.
- Note: Before cooking bamboo shoots, please rinse the chopped bamboo shoots in water for 2 days.
