Ingredients of Khaman Dhokla

  1. It's 1 cup of besan (chickpea flour).
  2. Prepare 1 tbsp. of sooji (semolina).
  3. It's 1/2 cup of yoghurt.
  4. You need to taste of salt.
  5. You need 1/4 tsp. of turmeric powder.
  6. It's 1 tsp. of ginger paste.
  7. It's 1-2 of green chilies, chopped or ground.
  8. It's 1 tbsp. of lime juice.
  9. You need 1 tsp. of sugar.
  10. You need 1 tsp. of eno fruit salt.
  11. You need 2 tbsp. of oil.
  12. It's 1 tsp. of sesame seeds.
  13. You need 1/2 tsp. of mustard seeds.
  14. It's 1/4 tsp. of asafoetida (hing).
  15. Prepare 2 of green chilies, chopped.
  16. Prepare 1 sprig of curry leaves.
  17. It's of extra lime juice, sugar and a pinch of salt or to taste.
  18. You need 1 tbsp. of fresh coconut, grated.
  19. Prepare 1 tsp. of coriander leaves, chopped.

Khaman Dhokla step by step

  1. Mix together besan, sooji, yoghurt, salt, ginger paste, green chilies paste,lime juice, 1 tbsp. oil, sugar & turmeric powder with enough water to form into a batter of pouring consistency. Keep aside for 30 minutes..
  2. Add eno fruit salt to it..
  3. Mix well & pour into a greased steel container & steam for 20 minutes on a medium flame..
  4. When cool, cut into desired shapes..
  5. Heat remaining oil in a pan & temper with mustard seeds. After it stops spluttering, add sesame seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves and green chilies. Saute for a few seconds & switch off the flame. Add 1/4 cup water, extra lime juice, sugar and a pinch of salt. Mix everything well..
  6. Pour on the steamed Dhoklas. Garnish with coconut & coriander leaves..
  7. Enjoy with some green chutney..
