- You need 2/3 cup of green moong dal soaked in water overnight.
- It's of Else soak the moong dal in hot water for 2-3 hours.
- Prepare 2-3 tsp of plain curd.
- You need 1 of small onion.
- It's 2 of green chillies.
- You need 3-4 tsp of corn flour.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of baking powder.
- You need to taste of Salt according.
- It's as needed of Oil.

- In a blender, add soaked moong dal (after draining the water), salt, curd, green chillies and blend into thick paste.
- Now add chopped onion, corn flour, baking powder, little water to make semi thick batter..
- Heat the appam pan, sprinkle little oil in all the shell. Now using a spoon, fill each appam hole with the batter, ensure you fill upto 2/3rd portion..
- Flip both the sides until both sides turn into light golden colour..
- Take all the pieces in a serving plate, serve with tomato sauce and green chutney.
