- Wash and soak rice and chana dal overnight in water or for 8-10 hours..

- Switch off the flame and very carefully add water, lemon juice and sugar. Stir and mix well..
- Again turn on the gas and let the tadka come to a boil..
- Switch off the flame and spread this tadka on the dhokla..
- Let the dhokla soak in the tadka for at least 15 minutes..
- Serve dhokla with coriander coconut chutney..
