Ingredients of Dahi Wale Aloo Paneer
- You need 200 gm of paneer (cut into small cubes).
- It's 1 of potato.
- Prepare 1/3 cup of curd.
- It's 1/3 cup of frozen peas (optional).
- It's 1.5 tbsp of sattu.
- Prepare 1.5 tbsp of Pavbhaji Masala (store-bought).
- Prepare 1 tsp of cumin powder.
- It's 1 tsp of coriander powder.
- It's 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
- You need 1.5 tsp of Kashmiri red chilli powder.
- You need 1/2 tsp of red chilli powder.
- You need 1/2 tsp of garam masala powder.
- You need 1/4 tsp of celery seeds (ajmud).
- You need 2 tsp of ginger paste.
- You need 1/2 tbsp of kasuri methi.
- Prepare of Little less than 1/4 tsp of asafoetida (hing).
- It's of salt as per taste.
- It's of sugar as per taste.
- You need 1 tsp of mustard oil (for gravy).
- Prepare 3 tsp of mustard oil (to fry the paneer).
Dahi Wale Aloo Paneer step by step
- Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and fry the paneer until they are light golden brown.
- Boil the potato and then mash it well.
- Now take the curd in a large bowl & add all the powdered spices (except the garam masala), salt, sugar and sattu into it. Mix everything very well.
- Now it's time to make the gravy. Heat the oil in a pan and add the celery seeds into it.
- Saute for a while and then add the ginger paste & asafoetida.
- Saute for a few seconds & then add the curd mixture.
- Cook for few minutes & then add the peas.
- Mix everything well & then add some water. Cook everything for few more minutes.
- Then add the mashed potato into the pan & cook until all the ingredients are well combined into the pan.
- Then add sufficient amount of water to make the gravy.
- Once the water starts to boil cover the pan and let it sit on medium flame for about 6-7 minutes.
- Then add the fried paneer cubes into the gavy & again put the lid on and let the pan sit on medium flame for about 5 minutes.
- Lastly mix the garam masala powder and the kasuri methi & turn off the flame.
- Dahi wale aloo paneer is absolutely ready to serve. It can be served with both the rice & roti.
